Op-Ed/ Letter to the Editor Exercise (illegal immigration)

The writer wants to make it clear that the term "Illegals" is not only referring to South Americans and Mexicans. The term "Illegals" is every individual that comes to the US without proper consent. If an "illegal" is caught they have broken the law and need to be punished as any other immigrant would be.
The writer is concerned with the cost of illegal immigration. He is concerned with the amount of crime committed by immigrants. They don't file tax returns, as in they don't pay taxes. The writer is also concerned with the number of drunk driving by "illegals". All his statistics come from different resources proving his evidence.

Erin,
A quick note on spelling...Remember that the reader will notice misspellings especially if they appear in the heading or title of a piece; therefore, many people might not read your posts. In this post, you need to spell check the title. Again, like I said in class, I'd rather you spell check with your eyes and a dictionary, not with word's version. This is because word will often miss some. The title should read: "illegal immigration", not "immagration". i, not e.
Next, who is the writer? You say, "The writer wants to make it clear..." But who is the writer? We don't know. Think about the reader; we come to the piece without the same knowledge you have. So fill us in. Think about this for every paper.
